| President's Welcome | Welcome to the Georgia Phi Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. I am proud to be a part of a chapter with such a long and distinguished history on the campus of Georgia Tech. In its 100 plus years of existence, the Georgia Phi chapter has been home to golf great Bobby Jones, former Mayor of Atlanta Ivan Allen Jr., and numerous other prominent and successful gentlemen.
We are a fraternity that strives to promote the highest standards of friendship, scholarship, and service in each of its members. The True Gentleman is our creed that forms our foundation and guides our members to reach and exceed their true potential as scholars, athletes, leaders, and gentlemen.
To recognize and celebrate those young men who fit the creed of The True Gentlemen, we have started awarding a scholarship every year to an incoming freshman male who best exemplifies our creed. If you are an incoming freshman, I would encourage you to apply for our Faulkner Incoming Freshman Scholarship.
Since our installment on January 21, 2006, we have trained and initiated several successful pledge classes, and in only two years after Georgia Phi began the process of recolonizing, we are now a leading fraternity on the Georgia Tech campus. The Georgia Phi chapter was recolonized in just over a year, making it the fastest chartered colony in SAE history. We have continued to grow since then and our members now hold leadership roles in several organizations on campus.
Personally, I have been a member of this chapter since the fall of 2005. Since that time, I have seen our chapter make huge strides, growing from a colony of 16 men to a chapter of around 50. SAEs are now leaders on campus, but have also made strides in becoming a chapter strong in academics and service, while always living as true gentlemen. I look forward to helping to lead a strong advance of our chapter in these areas during 2008.
Please feel free to look around our website for more information about Georgia Phi. If you have any questions, or if there's ever anything that I can do to help you, please don't hesitate to call or email me.
FA,
Seth Pound
